Korean technology to be introduced in leather and footwear industry

Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) -- Uzcharmsanoat Association held a meeting with the managing director of South Korean company Beomhan engineering Hyo-sung and professor of Pukyong National University Ki-yong-Jo. 

The main subject of the meeting was development of trade-economic relations between two countries in leather, footwear and fur industry as well as issues on setting export of finished goods from our country to Korea, improvement of treatment facilities of leather enterprises in Uzbekistan and introduction of modern technologies.

It should be noted that Beomhan engineering was founded in 1995. The main directions of its activity are development of technologies for rational water use, environmental protection and waste water treatment plants, as well as their technical maintenance and quality control. To date, the company has completed more than 3,000 projects worldwide.

Pukyong National University is considered the oldest educational institution in South Korea. It was founded in 1924. To date, 170,000 professionals worldwide have graduated from it. The graduates are regarded as first-class human resources in geology, oceanography, information and industrial technology, and ecology.

The management of the association provided detailed information on the reforms taking place in our country. In particular, they talked about the production potential of the leather and footwear industry, investment environment and export indicators. The system of privileges and preferences offered to foreign investors was explained.

The Korean guests, in turn, said that IT and industrial technologies are rapidly developing in Uzbekistan, and for this reason, investors from major economies of Asia are rushing to our country.

Representatives of Beomhan engineering shared their proposals on modernisation of treatment facilities in the tanning industry of our country and introduction of Korean technologies. An initiative was also taken to implement joint projects in this direction. The projects are meant to ensure the efficient use of the natural and water resources. This, in turn, is important for leather and footwear enterprises.

A representative of Pukyong National University came up with initiatives to develop a separate road map for improving teachers’ qualifications through joint educational programmes and providing industrial enterprises with relevant specialists.

The management of Uzcharmsanoat Association said that they supported the proposals and initiatives put forward. Practical and organizational aspects of forthcoming tasks for effective implementation of these projects have been discussed. In particular, within international exhibition to be held in South Korea on March 25-29, a memorandum on cooperation will be signed between association Uzcharmsanoat and National University of Bukyong.

The document envisages improving qualification of specialists of association’s member enterprises in the Republic of Korea. Classes are planned to be organized in the fields of ecology, industrial technologies, design and marketing.
