KOICA Uzbekistan office held a Knowledge Sharing Conference

Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) -- KOICA Uzbekistan office held a knowledge-sharing conference at the University of World Economy and Diplomacy on September 21. The Knowledge Sharing Conference is an event where returning trainees who graduated from the KOICA training program convey the knowledge they acquired in Korea to the public in Uzbekistan.

At this conference, Mr. Jafar Khidirov, who graduated from KDI in Korea with a master's degree and is working at the Center for Economic Research and Reforms under the President's Administration, and Mr. Jakhongir Norjigitov, who graduated from Yonsei University and works at the Ministry of Finance and Economy, spoke on 'Korean economic development' and 'Transformational leadership role in community development', respectively. There was time for presentations and Q&A sessions as well.

More than 200 students participated in the conference and many students showed interest in Korea's economic development during the Q&A session. It was a meaningful time as students compared the situations between Uzbekistan and Korea and asked many questions.

This year, in Uzbekistan, 16 master's trainees began studying in Korea, and about 70 public officials participated in KOICA's short-term training through the KOICA training program. From 1992 to the present, approximately 170 Uzbekistan government officials have obtained master's/doctoral degrees through KOICA's degree training program, and about 2,300 public officials have participated in KOICA's short-term training program.
