Khokimiyat of Tashkent: The Botanical Garden will not be transferred to the balance of the Tashkent khokimiyat

Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) -- Recently, a draft resolution of the Cabinet of Ministers of the Republic of Uzbekistan “On radical improvement of the activities and management system of recreation parks” was published in the project.gov portal. The project provided for the transfer of all cultural and recreation parks to the jurisdiction of the “Recreation Park Management Directorates” established under the regional khokimiyats.

The project.gov portal provides for public discussion of projects and only after acceptance by the public, the document is approved by the authorized bodies and it comes into force.

The initiator of the resolution developed, as part of the implementation of PP-102 of 24 March 2023, “On additional measures to reduce state participation in the economy”, with the aim of further improving the activities of parks in the republic, creating amenities for the leisure of the population, expanding opportunities for cultural events and improving their management system is the Agency for State Assets.

The botanical garden is not a recreation park, not an amusement park, it is an oasis of science that helps to cultivate not only many varieties of plants, but also specialists in this field. It is the pearl of not only the capital, but the entire country.

Having studied the situation and talked with specialists of the Botanical Garden, the Tashkent khokimiyat reports that the Botanical Garden is not transferred to the balance sheet of the khokimiyat and the capital’s khokimiyat is not the initiator of this resolution. T

he khokimiyat recognizes the value of this scientific institution in preserving the country’s ecosystem, preserving and increasing the gene pool of plants and will not allow it to be turned into an amusement park.

The capital’s khokimiyat expresses gratitude to the active residents of the city, in particular the chief dendrologist of Uzbekistan Atirgul Kholmirzaeva, who cares deeply about the garden and expressed concern for its fate, the message says.
