Issues of expanding trade relations between Uzbekistan and China discussed

Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) -- On 4 April, with the support of the Chamber of Commerce and Industry of Uzbekistan, a business meeting was held on the prospects for the development of trade and economic relations between Uzbekistan and the People’s Republic of China.

The conference was attended by a delegation from the administration of the Xiangshan District of Ningbo, China, and representatives of 10 Chinese companies in the area, representing various industries in the Xiangshan District.

From the Uzbek side, more than 80 business entities took part, ready to expand mutually beneficial trade and economic cooperation with enterprises of the Xiangshan district.

During the event, the Chinese side made a presentation on the economic potential of Xiangshan County of China and the possibilities of expanding bilateral trade, economic and investment cooperation with enterprises of Uzbekistan in such areas as the production of building materials, agriculture, as well as food, textile, electrical, plastic and chemical industries. .

It should be noted that Xiangshan is one of the top 100 counties in China. The county has a large number of processing and manufacturing enterprises with a wide range of products and strong processing and manufacturing capabilities.

In recent years, China has been the leading foreign trade partner of Uzbekistan. At the end of 2022, the volume of mutual trade between Uzbekistan and China reached more than US$8.9 billion, which increased 1.2 times compared to last year.

The event was organized in order to enhance mutual trade, increase the volume of exports of products from Uzbekistan to China, as well as expand technological cooperation between the two countries.

At the event, the participants had the opportunity to fully familiarize themselves with the activities of Chinese companies in order to further expand trade and economic cooperation, as well as discuss the possibilities and prospects for strengthening business ties between the parties.

As a result of the event, B2B meetings were also held with the participation of representatives of the business circles of the two countries, which will serve as an additional incentive for the development of cooperation in the field of small and private businesses, as well as the subsequent conclusion of mutually beneficial trade agreements and contracts.
