From early morning the people of Fergana and visitors from neighboring towns and villages started gathering at the hippodrome. The place had the feel of a joyful excitement and anticipation, the brass band played a solemn march, the food was being cooked at the fairground stalls, famous Ferghana pilaf languished in large pots.
At the celebration, the townspeople and visitors of Ferghana heard Uzbek pop singers, comedians, saw shows by national dance groups, Kurash, martial arts and gymnastics clubs. The vast territory of the hippoddrom hosted shows of tightrope walkers, palvans, acrobats. Kites and model airplanes cord, competing in height and range, were launched into the blue sky.
Equestrians that drew over hundred skilful riders climaxed the festivities. The riders showed their skill and mastery of concor and races. Colorful and picturesque was a demonstration of traditional horse game - kiz Kuwari (catch the girl), the essence of which is that the "groom" catches the "bride", galloping to catch the bridle of her horse. This beautiful theatrical popular game immediately took the audience to ancient times, when the winner in this contest, the most daring and clever horseman thus won the girl he loved.
The event also hosted the awarding ceremony of granting certificates and prizes to active participants of khashar dedicated to Navruz, during which parks and public places of the city were greened up and cleaned. The winners of sports contests and horse races were also awarded with prizes at the end of the event.
