Energy Ministry, Huawei Digital Power discuss further development of green energy

Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) -- A meeting was held at the Ministry of Energy of the Republic of Uzbekistan between Minister of Energy Jurabek Mirzamakhmudov and Vice President of Huawei Digital Power for the Middle East and Central Asia Mr. Yao Jing to discuss further cooperation in the development of green energy in accordance with the agreements, achieved during the visit of the Minister of Energy to the headquarters of Huawei in Shenjen, China in February this year.

During the meeting, the parties touched upon the issues of further development of the renewable energy sector in Uzbekistan through the introduction of digital technologies for solar installations of various types, from private households, government agencies and social facilities to large-scale solar power plants.

Particular attention was paid to considering the possibilities of localizing the production of inverters for solar installations and chargers for electric vehicles in Uzbekistan, establishing partnerships with representatives of leading countries that have succeeded in introducing solar solutions, and joint training in this area.

Mr. Yao Jing deeply appreciated and expressed his support for the measures taken under the green development strategy of Uzbekistan. “The country’s leadership has outlined plans to increase and promptly increase the capacity of the energy system through the implementation of projects in the field of renewable energy to provide the population with clean and affordable energy and achieve carbon neutrality in the future. Uzbekistan has already implemented a number of large projects to launch solar power plants, which are showing good results for the second year. For our part, we will try, based on our values, to comprehensively contribute to the further strengthening of the country’s energy system and the implementation of the "green" strategy," said Yao Jing.

During the talks, the Minister of Energy noted a visit to the company’s showroom and production facilities for the production of inverters and batteries at the Huawei Digital Power plant in China.

Huawei Digital Power focuses on areas such as cleaner power generation, electrification of transport, and green ICT infrastructure. By the end of 2022, Huawei has helped its customers generate more than 695.1 billion kWh of green energy and reduce energy consumption by 19.5 billion kWh, equivalent to avoiding almost 340 million tons of CO2 emissions.
