Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) -- A delegation of Uzbekistan consisting of representatives of 11 universities visited Stockholm, Dunyo news agency reports.

The visit was organized by the Embassy of our country, the Honorary Consulate of Finland in Uzbekistan and the Nordic International University.

As part of the trip, meetings of the Uzbek delegation were organized with the rector of Södertörn University, Professor Gustav Amberg, the vice-rector of this university, Professor Anna Maria Jonsson, staff and researchers of the Center for Baltic and East European Studies at this university.

During the meeting, issues were discussed on the development of joint programs in the field of pedagogy and teacher training between universities of Uzbekistan and Södertörn University, establishing the exchange of teachers and students, organizing short-term advanced training courses in Sweden, holding joint conferences and seminars in Tashkent and Stockholm, as well as establishing cooperation in other areas.

Also, members of the delegation of Uzbekistan visited the Center for Baltic and East European Studies at the University of Södertörn, got acquainted with the activities of this center, and exchanged views on various issues with professors and doctoral students.

As a result of the visit, agreements were reached on cooperation in a number of areas with the University of Södertörn.
