Competition Committee holds businesses accountable for advertising law violations
Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) — The Competition Development and Consumer Protection Committee of Uzbekistan has taken enforcement measures against several companies for violating advertising regulations.
Throughout February, the committee’s territorial office in Tashkent conducted a comprehensive study and monitoring of compliance with advertising legislation.
During the inspection, a special commission identified violations committed by several businesses operating in the capital. Notably, discrepancies were found in the activities of "UNG PETRO" (CARVON), "INTERNATIONAL FOODCHAIN" (KFC), "CENTRAL ASIA VOYAGES-CAV" (a shopping center), and "HAMKOR REKLAMA SERVIS."
As a result, administrative cases were initiated concerning non-compliance with the Advertising Law and violations of outdoor advertising placement regulations, as stipulated by Cabinet of Ministers Resolution No. 104 on the Regulation of the Outdoor Advertising Market.
Following the review of these cases, financial penalties were imposed. Additionally, the businesses received mandatory orders to rectify the violations and take preventive measures to avoid similar infractions in the future.
