China, Uzbekistan Deepen Strategic Partnership Ties
Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) — China is ready to jointly advance further deepening of mutually beneficial cooperation with Uzbekistan and to steadily strengthen the China–Uzbekistan community with a shared future, said Chinese Vice Premier Liu Guozhong during a meeting with Uzbek Prime Minister Abdulla Aripov in Beijing.
The talks took place within the framework of the eighth meeting of the Intergovernmental Committee on Cooperation between China and Uzbekistan, which the two sides held jointly. Liu Guozhong, a member of the Political Bureau of the Central Committee of the Communist Party of China, stressed Beijing’s readiness to develop engagement with Tashkent in line with agreements reached by the leaders of the two countries.
He said China intends to make full use of the coordinating role of the intergovernmental committee, support Uzbekistan on issues concerning the core interests of both sides, and expand high-quality cooperation under the Belt and Road Initiative.
The Chinese side also expressed readiness to expand cooperation in trade and the economy, energy, transport, agriculture, science and technology, humanitarian exchanges, security, and poverty reduction.
For his part, Abdulla Aripov said Uzbekistan views China as a long-term and reliable strategic partner. He noted that the country is interested in maintaining active high-level contacts, strengthening political mutual trust, and expanding practical cooperation across a wide range of areas.
The Uzbek prime minister also reaffirmed Tashkent’s commitment to the “one China” principle and expressed readiness to jointly advance initiatives proposed by Beijing, as well as to support the formation of a community with a shared future for humanity.
