An experiment on a new social assistance system will be held in 28 districts (cities) of Uzbekistan

Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) - Resolution of the President of the Republic of Uzbekistan “On measures to further improve the system of providing social services and assistance to the population” was adopted.

From 15 October 2023, as an experiment, a new system for the provision of social services and assistance by groups of social workers of the Inson social service centers of the National Social Protection Agency under the President is being introduced at the initial stage in 28 districts (cities).

A plan of measures to improve the system of providing social services and assistance on a republican scale was approved.

The main tasks and areas of activity of groups of social workers of the centers:

provision of professional social services to individuals and families who find themselves in difficult situations and at high risk of falling into a difficult situation, based on an integrated approach directly in mahallas;

developing plans for the provision of social services and assistance to the population in need of social protection on an individual basis by assessing their needs and available capabilities;

attracting internal resources, including social support volunteers (relatives, neighbors, volunteers), to provide social services and assistance.

From 15 October 2023, recognition or cancellation of recognition as a living alone or a single elderly person and a person with a disability in need of outside care, as well as inclusion in (exclusion from) the list of lonely elderly people and persons with disabilities are made on the basis of a decision of the social service centers Inson.

Directors of social service centers "Inson" are given the right to temporarily register for a period of up to six months the population in need of social protection, who do not have a specific place of residence, in institutions under the Agency that have a housing stock.

Before 1 November 2023, it is planned to develop and launch a separate electronic module that coordinates social services in the “Unified National Social Protection” Information System.
