Abdulla Abdukadirov appointed acting head of reforms agency

Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) — Abdulla Abdukadirov has been appointed acting director of the Agency for Strategic Development and Reforms under the President of Uzbekistan, according to the agency’s press service.

Under a presidential decree dated May 12, 2026, Abdulla Mamasaatovich Abdukadirov assumed leadership of the agency in the capacity of acting director.

The agency did not provide information regarding the further role of the previous director, Bahodir Rakhmatov, who had held the position since 2023.

Abdukadirov was born on February 19, 1961, in Tashkent. In 1982, he graduated from the Tashkent Institute of National Economy.

He began his career at the Institute of Economics of the Academy of Sciences of Uzbekistan, where he worked as a research fellow from 1987 to 1990. He later joined the Ministry of Finance, where he held several senior positions until 1997, including First Deputy Minister.

Between 1996 and 2004, Abdukadirov served as First Deputy Chairman of the State Property Committee and as Director General of the Center for Coordination and Development of the Securities Market.

He also worked at the Uzbekistan branch of ABN AMRO Bank, where he served as head of treasury and deputy chairman of the management board.

In later years, he headed Smart Heating Systems and Double A Solutions, served on the supervisory board of private InfinBank, and worked as adviser to the Minister of Investment and Foreign Trade.

Since 2022, he had been serving as First Deputy Director of the Agency for Strategic Development and Reforms under the President of Uzbekistan.
