The project has been implemented within the State Localization Programme. Director-general of Zenith Electronics JV Farid Abdrshin said that Samsung Electronics granted right to the Uzbek company to produce washing machines under Samsung brand. He said that Samsung rendered technical assistance and will carry out quality control within the project.

Abdrshin stated that the cooperation with Samsung Electronics Co., LTD allowed to establish production of high quality washing capacities in short period.

He underlined that the launch of washing machine production will allow population of Uzbekistan to use advanced technologies, meeting international standards, on affordable prices compared to imported ones.

Farid Abdrshin said that in the preliminary stage, part of components or 32.5% of production were localized at the capacities of Zenith Electronics in Tashkent. He added that the localization level will increase.

Head of Zenith Electronics JV said that the company carried out modernization of equipment and mastered production of new technologies on founding plastic goods and production of printed circuit board.

The venture will produce two models of automatic washing machines of Samsung brand – 8590 and 8598. He added that the enterprise has opportunity to produce any models of Samsung washing machine.

Zenith Electronics is planning to produce 4,700 units of washing machines in 2011 and 10,000 in 2012. The company plans to rich its full capacity – 25,000 units – in 2013.

Farid Abdrshin said the company will provide a guarantee and three year free service for produced washing machines.
