Young people who have received land leases will not be excluded from the “notebooks”

Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) -- According to the Presidential Decree “On measures to increase incomes and ensure employment of youth by allocating land to them, as well as developing new land areas”, applicants will be leased for a period up to 30 years in small lots based on the principle of “one massif – one product”:

- irrigated crop areas - for the production of vegetables, potatoes, melons, flowers, herbs, corn grains, legumes and oilseeds;

- land areas of perennial plantings or ineffective gardens - for horticultural and viticultural areas;

- land areas intended for the production of fodder crops, rainfed, virgin, pasture and new developed land areas - for the production of medicinal plants, livestock breeding areas.

The size of land areas allocated to applicants will be determined in accordance with the proposal of the “makhalla seven”.

Young people who have received land leases through electronic online auctions are not excluded from the “Iron Notebook”, “Women’s Notebook” and “Youth Notebook”, and all benefits and preferences established for them by law will be preserved.

Constant monitoring of the types and volume of crops grown by applicants on land areas will be carried out through the “Yosh Farmerlar” (“Young Farmers”) platform by the Youth Agency.

According to the Resolution, the following measures will be introduced to support applicants under the new system, covering the chain from production to sale of agricultural products:

- allocation to applicants by commercial banks, within the framework of the conditions and funds provided for in the Presidential Decree, loans in the amount of up to 100 million soums for a period of up to 7 years;

At the same time, within the framework of the resolution, the allocation of all types of loans will be allowed on the basis of the guarantee of the “makhalla seven”, which will bear equal responsibility for the performance of loans;

- allocation of subsidies in the amount of 5 million soums to applicants for the purchase of mini-equipment, seeds and seedlings - from the Youth Notebook Fund, loans in the amount of up to 33 million soums - from the Fund for Support of Farmers, Dehkan Farms and Owners of Household Lands;

- through 167 “agricultural centers”, local services will be organized for the supply of seeds, seedlings, application of mineral fertilizers, mini-equipment and agronomists with the involvement of the private sector; processors and exporters will be involved in the purchase of grown products.
