This year over 22 fashion designers presented 19 collections comprising 145 men’s and women’s designs. The young fashionistas include students and graduates of Kamoliddin Bekzod National Institute of Arts and Design, Tashkent Institute of Textiles and Light Industry as well as independent designers.
Each collection is crafted in a different style: from classics and romanticism to grunge and military. In creating clothes and accessories the designers have relied on fabrics of various textures, national motifs and imagination.
Underground is a unique opportunity for many budding designers to showcase their skills and talent to the broad public and to meet experts and specialists. As previous shows have shown, making it to ‘Underground’ opens new avenues for the participants. The designers with collections, found to be the most interesting, meet partners and set up links aimed at bringing their ideas to fruition and producing their collections on an industrial scale, and are invited to attend international competitions and shows.
