Yandex starts to show public transport traffic in Tashkent

Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) -- Yandex.Maps began showing the movement of city buses in Tashkent. Now it’s easy to find out where the necessary transport is going and how long it will be. For example, you cannot wait for the bus at a stop in bad weather, but come exactly to its arrival.

In order to monitor the movement of buses, you need to enable the display of transport - this can be done in the web version of Maps and in the mobile application. The latest version of the Android application supports the Uzbek language - it will appear if Uzbek is selected on the phone. Soon, such an opportunity will be on iOS. In the web version (yandex.uz/maps), the language switches in the lower right corner.

“It is important for us that it is convenient for residents of Uzbekistan to use Yandex.Maps. Therefore, we completely translated the service into Uzbek and added moving vehicles to the map. The khokimiyat of Tashkent and Toshshahartranskhizmat help us get information about where the buses go,” Yevgeny Lukyanchikov, Yandex Regional Director in Uzbekistan, said.

Now Yandex shows almost all of the state buses in Tashkent. In the application, they are marked with special icons. On the map you can see in real time where the bus is now, and if you click on the stop icon, you can see after how many minutes it will arrive. Information is updated every 30 seconds, but thanks to the prediction algorithm, the tags move smoothly.

When you click on the stop icon, Yandex.Maps show a list of all the bus numbers that pass through it. Using the application, you can also get directions to the desired point. This is useful to find out how to get out of an unfamiliar area or get to the market at the other end of the city.

Tashkent was the first city in Uzbekistan where Yandex.Maps show real-time traffic. There are more than 90 such cities around the world - in Russia, Belarus, Kazakhstan and other countries of Europe and America.
