Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) -- General Secretary of the CPC Central Committee Xi Jinping on Wednesday during an inspection trip to Hunan province (Central China) stressed the importance of the CPC to rely on the people.

Xi Jinping made this statement during a visit to the home of a descendant of a revolutionary hero in Shazhou Village, Chenzhou City.

In the 1930s, during the CCP’s Great Campaign, poor villager Xu Jiexiu sheltered three female Red Army soldiers. Leaving the village, the fighters cut their only blanket in half to share it with the poor woman.

Xu Jiexiu’s descendant told Xi Jinping that now great changes have taken place in his family, they have already got rid of poverty. Xi Jinping noted that these changes show the CCP’s true qualities - reliance on the people and keeping its promises.

In a central square in the village, Xi Jinping told villagers that the CCP has remained true to its original behests for nearly a century since its inception. He also said that as the head of the Party, he will properly fulfill his promises and responsibilities, and work with China’s 1.4 billion people and 90 million Party members to make the homeland even more powerful and the people happier.
