World workout stars gathered in Tashkent for the first time to participate in Workout Fest

Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) -- On 2 November, the first International Street Sports Festival Workout Fest was held in the capital. The organizers were the International Workout Federation in partnership with the global manufacturer of sports equipment Kenguru Pro.

Workout is a street workout, all the exercises of which can be performed on the sports ground without special equipment.

The event brought together fans of a healthy lifestyle and sports, among whom were professional athletes. To participate in the Workout Fest in Tashkent arrived:

•Founder and President of the International Workout and Calisthenics Federation Maris Slezins;

•Three-time champion of Bulgaria in artistic gymnastics Viktor Kamenov;

•Multiple champion of the Czech Republic and Slovakia in street workout Dominik Klimek;

•European champion among Nordic countries in street workout Edgar Zindoga.

Calisthenics is a system of strength training and bodyweight exercises.

For the festival, the organizers built a professional workout park.

Workout is a relatively new sport. We are actively promoting it around the world. And we conceived and held this festival in order to popularize street workout among Uzbeks.

This site was built by professionals, taking into account the world requirements for the quality and safety of workout zones. We hope that in the future we will be able to hold the National Championship and the World Cup stage in Uzbekistan,” said Maris Slezins, President of the International Calisthenics and Calisthenics Federation.

The installed sports equipment is not only designed for adult workouts, but also adapted to the needs of people with disabilities and children. Kenguru Pro has built over 6,200 such venues in 47 countries around the world.

“In Uzbekistan, street workout is mainly done by young people, although this sport is suitable for almost everyone, including people with disabilities. It is extremely democratic: workout zones can be equipped on courtyard areas and can be practiced for free and at any time.

By popularizing workout, we are developing a culture of healthy lifestyle, and by installing adapted sports equipment, we are contributing to the development of an inclusive environment. It is more difficult for people with disabilities to work on standard simulators. For example, a person in a wheelchair will not be able to reach a standard handwheel without assistance.

In this professionally designed workout park, 100 people can play sports at the same time,” said Anvar Yusupov, general director of local production at Kenguru PRO.

The Workout Fest program included master classes from world stars of this direction, Workout game obstacle competitions and panna football.

Panna is a type of street football played by two players. The main goal is not only to score as many goals as possible, but also to throw the ball between the legs of the opponent, after which the game ends.

The professional workout area will be donated to park visitors and is free of charge.
