World powers are thinking about creating storage facilities for medical products to prevent possible crises in the healthcare sector

Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) -- The pandemic of a new coronavirus infection has led to a crisis in the health care system of almost all countries of the world, even the leading countries according to the medicine effectiveness index compiled by the Bloomberg agency. In many countries, during the peak of the incidence of COVID-19, in addition to medical beds, there was a shortage of personal protective equipment (PPE), ventilators, antiviral drugs and other drugs.

In this regard, a number of countries are taking measures to prevent possible crises in the health sector.

So, on the eve of the Federal Republic of Germany, the creation of a national reserve in the health sector was started, which will include 19 stores of medical products throughout the country. According to the head of the Ministry of Health of the Federal Republic of Germany J. Spahn, in 2021, US$1.2 billion will be allocated for these purposes, which is 7% of current healthcare costs.

The storage facilities will contain supplies of personal protective equipment, including masks, as well as medicines and ventilators. Initially, the storage facilities are planned to be filled with already existing or ordered medical supplies, including protective equipment from China. However, in order to reduce dependence on external supply chains, the government intends to rely more on medical equipment and supplies manufactured in Germany from 2022.

Russia will take similar measures. According to the national plan for supporting the Russian economy, a reserve fund will be created on the basis of the Federal Reserve in 2021. To replenish it, the state plans to purchase medicines, medical products, and PPE.

In addition, according to the order of the Prime Minister of the Russian Federation, it is planned to open a federal center for drug provision of citizens, which will be engaged in the procurement of medicines for the treatment of cancer, tuberculosis, HIV, as well as vaccines included in the national vaccination schedule.

In general, there is a clear tendency for a number of states to create the necessary reserve to prevent the collapse of the healthcare system during possible epidemics due to a shortage of necessary medical equipment and drugs.

In this regard, in order to prevent a possible deterioration of the epidemiological situation, it seems appropriate to consider the issue of providing Uzkomgosreserve with the necessary medications and equipment.
