Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) -- In Uzbekistan, rapidly developing sectors such as IT, tourism, education and medicine make it a regional center, which creates ample opportunities for investment. This was announced by the President of Uzbekistan Shavkat Mirziyoyev at the second Tashkent International Investment Forum, which was held on 27 April.

“When implementing our plans, we rely on the support of international financial institutions,” he said.

“For example, the Islamic Development Bank, which has given us great confidence, is actively working on public-private partnership projects worth US$1.5 billion without government guarantees. I would like to express my gratitude to the President of the IDB, Mr. Muhammad bin Suleiman Al Jassir, for his participation in our forum,” Mirziyoyev said.

The head of Uzbekistan expressed confidence that cooperation between Uzbekistan and the IDB in this direction will be mutually beneficial and will continue for many years

“This year, with the support of international financial institutions, separate public-private partnership programs were developed for a total of US$14 billion,” the President said.

He added that these programs cover areas important for Uzbekistan, such as transport, utilities and water management, and healthcare. Specific projects within these programs will be presented at our forum.
