Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) -- On 29 January, the Ministry of Digital Technologies hosted an award ceremony for the winners of the third wave of mGovAward. The event was organized by IT Park with the support of the Ministry of Digital Technologies of the Republic of Uzbekistan and the Government of the UAE.
The event was attended by representatives of government organizations and the startup ecosystem, the media, as well as partners from the UAE: Mr. Abdullah Nasser Lootah (Deputy Minister of Government Affairs), Mr. Salim Al-Shami (Executive Director for the Development of Public Services in the Office of the Prime Minister of the UAE ) and Ms. Manal Bin Salim, (Team Leader, State Office for Exchange of Experience).
The event was opened by First Deputy Minister of Digital Technologies Oleg Pekos. He noted that the main goal of the mGovAward competition is to increase the interest of young people in working together with the government and developing quality solutions for the development of mobile government services, and the best developed solutions will be implemented in government agencies.
As part of the event, a panel discussion was held with the participation of IT Park Executive Director Abdulahad Kuchkarov and Mr. Salim Al-Shami, where the results of the competition and further cooperation between the two countries were discussed.
At the event, the winner of the second wave of mGovAward, the founder of the Tahrirchi project, Muhammadsaid Mamasaidov, gave a motivational speech. He spoke about his success and how participation in the competition helped in the development of the project.
mGovAward is a republican competition for the development of government mobile applications with a prize fund of US$100,000. A total of 63 teams applied to participate in the third wave of the competition, of which 20 projects reached Demo Day.
The winners of the competition were the following projects:
- 1st place (and a prize of US$50,000): Logo Smart is an innovative online program for the correction of speech defects in children, using artificial intelligence. Team members: Samandar Khasanov, Islomkhozha Nigmatov, Egambergan Atamuratov, Fayoza Shodmonova;
- 2nd Place (and US$30,000): Drivesafe is an app that uses video monitoring and alerts to prevent drowsy driver accidents by acting as an alert travel companion that monitors for signs of fatigue. Team members: Bekhzod Shukhratov, Botirzhon Sobirov, Bekhruz Abdullahuzhaev;
- 3rd place (and a prize of US$20,000): School of autism is a mobile application that helps children with autism learn, develop and communicate. Team members: Dilnoza Sulaimonova, Shakhzod Botirov, Sevinch Ikromzhonova, Rashod Akramov, Shokhrukh Pardaev.
Launch of the third wave of the competition took place on 1 July 2023. As part of their participation, the contestants had to develop a mobile application for the public sector in one of the following areas:
