Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) — The "Qovun Sayli" (Melon Festival) was held in Khiva, organized by the Tourism Committee in collaboration with the Khorezm region khokimiyat.

The event aimed to promote agritourism and attract tourists to the regions.

The festival took place on a 4-hectare area near the "Polvon" gates at "Alley" Square, featuring 60 pavilions from various regions, including the Republic of Karakalpakstan, Tashkent, and 13 cities and districts of the Khorezm region. Participants showcased fruit and vegetable products, crafts, and approximately 125 varieties of melons.

Following the festival, the winners and prize recipients were announced:

- Grand Prix: Yangibazar District of Khorezm Region, awarded a "Tracker" car.

- First Place: Urgench City, receiving an "Onix" car.

- Second Place: Khiva District, honored with a "Damas" car.

- Third Place: Shared by Urgench District, the city of Khiva, and Koshtupyr District, each receiving a motorcycle.

Additional awards were given in categories such as meat processing and storage, preservation of ancient Khorezm melon varieties, implementation of advanced technologies, and cultivation of the sweetest melons.

The festival attracted over 30,000 foreign tourists and around 400,000 local visitors, contributing to the growth of domestic and international tourism in the Khorezm region.
