Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) – The UAE-based company Masdar is building a wind farm with a capacity of 500 MW in Tomdy district of Navoi region
Masdar and the Chinese company Goldwind signed a contract for the supply of 111 turbines for a wind farm under construction in Tomdy district of Navoi region.
Wind turbines for the wind farm under construction in Uzbekistan are delivered from Lanzhou, China, on special vehicles, the press service of the Ministry of Energy of the Republic of Uzbekistan reports.
This power plant will be put into operation at the end of this year and is considered the largest wind farm in Central Asia.
After commissioning at full capacity, the station will produce 1 billion 800 million kWh of electricity per year. As a result, 540 million cubic meters of natural gas per year will be saved and 720,000 tons of emissions of harmful gases into the atmosphere will be prevented.
