WHO: total number of infected in India exceeds 20 million

Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) -- According to the World Health Organization, the number of people infected with coronavirus infection in the world is more than 153 million 184 thousand, of which more than 3 million 209 thousand people have died (as of 16:20 CET on 4 May 2021).

 

Over the past day, 644,685 new cases of coronavirus infection have been identified in the world, 10,501 patients have died.

According to current data from Johns Hopkins University (as of 10:20 am Tashkent time on 5 May 2021), more than 154 million 363 thousand people have been infected in the world, of which more than 3 million 227 thousand have died.

The leader in the number of confirmed cases remains the United States, where, according to WHO, more than 32.083 million infected have been identified.

India (over 20.282 million) is on the second place, Brazil (more than 14.754 million) – third, France (5.567 million) – the fourth, and Turkey (4.900 million) – the fifth.

According to WHO, over the past 24 hours, 36,178 new cases were registered in the United States, 357,229 in India, 28,935 in Brazil, 3,606 in France and 24,733 in Turkey.

More than 1 billion 047 million doses of coronavirus vaccines have been administered worldwide.
