WHO: over 724,000 new cases of COVID-19 cases registered in the world in a day

Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) -- According to the World Health Organization, the number of people infected with coronavirus infection in the world is more than 141 million 057 thousand, of which more than 3 million 015 thousand people have died (as of 16:28 CET on 19 March 2021).

Over the past day, 724,720 new cases of coronavirus infection have been registered in the world, 10,955 patients have died.

According to current data from Johns Hopkins University (as of 10:20 am Tashkent time on 20 March 2021), more than 142 million 097 thousand people have been infected in the world, of which more than 3 million 029 thousand have died.

The leader in the number of confirmed cases remains the United States, where, according to WHO, more than 31.311 million infected have been identified.

- in second place is India (more than 15.061 million),

- on the third - Brazil (more than 13.900 million),

- on the fourth - France (5.207 million),

- on the fifth - Russia (4.710 million).

According to WHO, over the past 24 hours, 61,306 new cases were registered in the United States, 273,810 in India, 67,636 in Brazil, 29,344 in France, and 8,589 in Russia.

As of 18 April, more than 793 million 484 thousand doses of vaccines against coronavirus were used in the world.
