WHO: over 600,000 new cases of coronavirus infection detected in the world over the past day

Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) -- According to the World Health Organization, the number of people infected with coronavirus infection in the world is more than 96.87 million, of which more than 2.1 million have died. Over the past day, 600,790 new cases of coronavirus infection have been detected in the world, 15,846 patients have died.

According to current data from Johns Hopkins University, more than 98.73 million people have been infected in the world, of which more than 2.12 million have died.

The leader in the number of confirmed cases remains the United States, where, according to WHO, more than 24.413 million infected have been identified. In second place is India (over 10.639 million), in third place is Brazil (over 8.697 million), in fourth place is Russia (3.698 million), in fifth is Great Britain (3.583 million).

According to WHO, over the past day, 188,176 new cases were registered in the United States, 14,256 in India, 59,119 in Brazil, 20,921 in Russia and 40,261 in the UK.
