WHO: over 13,000 people died from coronavirus in the world in the last 24 hours

Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) -- According to the World Health Organization, the number of people infected with coronavirus infection in the world is more than 164 million 523 thousand, of which more than 3 million 412 thousand people have died (as of 18:46 CET on 20 May 2021).

Over the past day, 638 247 new cases of coronavirus infection have been detected in the world, 13 247 patients have died.

According to current data from Johns Hopkins University (as of 10:20 am Tashkent time on May 21, 2021), more than 165 million 537 thousand people have been infected in the world, of which more than 3 million 430 thousand have died.

The leader in the number of confirmed cases remains the United States, where, according to WHO, more than 32.676 million infected have been identified.

In second place is India (over 25.772 million), in third - Brazil (over 15.732 million), in fourth - France (5.820 million), in fifth - Turkey (5.151 million).

According to WHO, over the past 24 hours, 29 792 new cases were registered in the United States, 276 110 in India, 75 445 in Brazil, 18 780 in France and 11 553 in Turkey.

According to current data from Johns Hopkins University, more than 1 billion 569 million doses of coronavirus vaccines have been administered worldwide.
