WHO: in the world, the number of people infected with COVID-19 exceeds 200 million

Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) - According to the World Health Organization, the number of people infected with coronavirus infection in the world is more than 199 million 466 thousand, of which more than 4 million 244 thousand people have died (as of 18:44 CET on 4 August 2021).

Over the past day, 548,167 new cases of coronavirus infection have been registered in the world, 8,430 patients have died.

According to current data from Johns Hopkins University (as of 10:20 am Tashkent time on 5 August 2021), more than 200 million 239 thousand people have been infected in the world, of which more than 4 million 256 thousand have died.

The leader in the number of confirmed cases remains the United States, where, according to WHO, more than 35.010 million infected have been identified.

In second place is India (more than 31.769 million), on the third - Brazil (more than 19.953 million), on the fourth - Russia (6.356 million), the fifth - France (6.039 million).

According to the WHO, over the past day, 78,722 new cases were registered in the United States, 42,625 in India, 15,143 in Brazil, 22,589 in Russia and 25,481 in France.

According to the latest data from Johns Hopkins University, more than 4 billion 269 million doses of coronavirus vaccines have been administered worldwide.
