Which region is more comfortable for living?

Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) -- Experts from the Institute for Forecasting and Macroeconomic Research (IPMI) have compiled a rating of living comfort in the regions of the Republic of Uzbekistan.

This rating was developed on the basis of the Global Liveability Ranking methodology, which is published annually by The Economist Intelligence Unit by ranking the cities of the world.

The rating is calculated for 2020-2021 in the form of a composite index in the areas of stability, health, culture, environment, education and infrastructure, which includes 37 indicators.

Based on the results of the analysis of Tashkent city (rating indicator 65), Bukhara (57), Navoi (48), and Ferghana (48) regions in 2021, the most comfortable regions for living were determined.

The following results were recorded in the directions:

Stability: Navoi region (69)

Healthcare: Tashkent city (75)

Culture and environment: Tashkent city (70)

Education: Republic of Karakalpakstan (63)

Infrastructure: Tashkent city (85)

The following changes took place between 2020 and 2021:

Ferghana region rose from 7th to 4th place, Tashkent region from 12th to 9th place, the Republic of Karakalpakstan from 9th to 12th place, Samarkand region decreased from 4th to 5th place, Jizzakh region from 5th to 6th place and Andijan region from 5th to 6th place.

It should be noted that for 2020-2021, the stability indicator in our country increased by +1.0 points, the healthcare indicator increased by +1.4 points, and the education indicator increased by 3.1 points, while the infrastructure indicator increased by 0 .5 points, the indicator of the direction of culture and the environment decreased by -0.2 points.

During the study period, the best result was recorded in the field of education. Positive results in this direction can be explained by the launch of distance education platforms and an increase in the admission quota to higher education institutions.

In conclusion, we can say that the comfort index of living in the regions of Uzbekistan helps to compare the level of tourism potential, development of regions and determine the directions of reforms that should be implemented.
