Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily,com) -- In October, the volume of sales of motor vehicles in the primary market increased by 2% compared to the same period last year.

The Center for Economic Research and Reforms (CERR) regularly assesses the situation in the automotive market of Uzbekistan.

Since the beginning of the year, there has been a tendency to increase activity in the Uzbek car market, despite a noticeable decline in the month of October. In particular, the drop in sales in the secondary car market turned out to be less acute than in the primary one.

In October this year, the total number of vehicles sold amounted to 112.7 thousand, which is 8% less than last month.

In general, 1.2 million vehicles have been sold since the beginning of the year, which is 2 times more (+604 thousand) than a year earlier.

In October, the volume of sales of motor vehicles in the primary market increased by 2% compared to the same period last year. However, there was a noticeable decrease in sales compared to September of this year.

The primary market of domestic cars

During the month, the volume of sales of new cars of domestic production decreased by 33% and amounted to 17 thousand cars. At the same time, compared to October last year, sales increased by only 1.5%.

Secondary car market

Car sales in the secondary market in October decreased by 1.4% compared to September of this year and amounted to 91.7 thousand cars.

The primary market of foreign cars

In October, sales of new foreign-made cars amounted to 1.7 thousand units, having decreased by 8.5% over the month. At the same time, there was an increase of 21% compared to the same period last year.
