Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) -- The Presidential Decree “On measures to further improve the activities of the Ministry of Health” was adopted.

The Center for Supporting a Healthy Lifestyle and Increasing Physical Activity of the Population has been transformed into the Institute of Health and Strategic Development. Its main tasks are:

development of programs for promoting a healthy lifestyle, prevention and control of non-communicable diseases;

implementation of comprehensive measures to promote a healthy lifestyle, combat bad habits, and create sustainable medical

development of scientifically based proposals for priority areas of activity, medium- and long-term scenarios and strategies for the development of the healthcare system based on progressive and acceptable foreign experience.

The document also provides for the transfer to the structure of the Ministry of Health:

Pharmaceutical Industry Development Agency;

from 1 January 2024 – State Health Insurance Fund.

Along with this, from 1 January 2024, under the Ministry of Health

it is planned to create a State Trust Fund for the Development of Medicine without the status of a legal entity by merging the funds:

to promote the health of people suffering from oncohematological and intractable diseases;

development of emergency medical care;

supporting and attracting gifted and qualified medical specialists to medical institutions;

support for sick children diagnosed with spinal muscular atrophy.
