Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) — In November 2024, experts from the Institute for Macroeconomic and Regional Studies under the Cabinet of Ministers of the Republic of Uzbekistan (IMRI) conducted another monitoring of food prices for 21 items in major supermarkets in Tashkent.
The results showed that the minimum prices for 8 items decreased compared to the previous month. Specifically, the price reductions were as follows: yellow onions – 8.2%, wheat flour – 7.6%, cabbage – 6.3%, buckwheat – 5.1%, lemons – 5.1%, sugar – 1.2%, apples – 0.8%, and rice – 0.6%.
However, for 10 items, the minimum prices increased. The largest price increases were observed for tomatoes and cucumbers, which are influenced by seasonal fluctuations. However, compared to the same period last year, the price of cucumbers decreased by 14.5%, while the price of tomatoes increased by only 0.4%.
For 3 items, the minimum prices remained unchanged: pasta, chicken meat (fillet), and margarine.
The analysis was based on monitoring data conducted on October 3 and November 7, 2024.
