Western Union appoints Alexandru Badulescu as vice-president for Eastern Europe and CIS
Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) -- Western Union, a leader in global payments, appointed Alexandru Badulescu as regional vice-president for Eastern Europe and the CIS. Eearlier, Alexandru Badulescu had worked as regional director of Alexandru Badulescu in Romania and Bulgaria.

In his new capacity, Alexandru Badulescu will be responsible for further increasing Western Union networks and business development in 22 countries with five key offices in Istanbul, Kiev, Moscow, Tashkent and Zagreb.

In condition of high competition in Russian remittances market, Alexandru Badulescu will determine strategy of interaction with partner banks and other networks, providing high quality and demanded services for consumers.

Possessing experience in banking sector, Alexandru Badulescu joined Western Union in 2000 as operational manager and later he was responsible for development of Western Union business in Romania, Moldova and Bulgaria. Under leadership of Alexandru Badulescu, the company achieved significant growth in incoming, outgoing and internal transactions within these countries.

“I want express gratitude to Jonathan Knaus for his work in the region. He laid firm ground for doing business and set firm business relations with partners. I am happy to continue work of Jonathan and further develop business in the countries of Eastern Europe and Central Asia,” Alexandru Badulescu said.

Alexandru Badulescu graduated Economic Science Academy in Bucharest. He also possesses MBA degree of London Business School.
