We'll focus on our game says Demianenko
Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) -- Nasaf boss Anatoliy Demianenko insisted his men must focus solely on themselves and not worry about Kuwait Sports Club when the two sides meet in the final of the AFC Cup at Karshi Central Stadium on Saturday.

Nasaf became the first side from Uzbekistan to reach the AFC Cup final after they edged out Al Wehdat 2-1 on aggregate in the last four.

Having won the first leg at home thanks to Jahongir Jiyamuradov's penalty, tournament top-scorer Ivan Boskovic struck midway through the second period in the return game in Amman to cancel out Abdullah Deeb's early goal and send Nasaf into the final.

The Uzbeks go into the contest as slight favourites thanks to home advantage and have proved one of the strongest teams in this year's competition, suffering just one defeat - at home to Thai outfit Chonburi in the second leg of the quarter-final - on their way to Saturday's showpiece encounter.

Demianenko is keen for his players to continue that form when they take on Kuwait SC.

"Both teams have their weak points and strong points," said the Nasaf boss.

"We have analysed the performance of Kuwait SC and we understand how they can play but we need to concentrate on our own performance. If we can manage to do so, we will win."

Despite Nasaf's formidable record, Demianenko is well aware of the threat Kuwait SC will pose.

After qualifying for the knockout stage second in their group, the Kuwait side have grown in strength and have proved an effective force away from home, holding powerful Thai team Muang Thong United to a goalless draw in Bangkok to reach the last four before beating Arbil 2-0 in Iraq.

The Nasaf boss feels it has been opposite number Dragan Talajic that has played the biggest part in their success.

"Kuwait SC became a stronger team with Talajic's arrival," Demianenko added.

"We have to avoid their counter-attack play. They also have four or five new players who made their team stronger too."

Demianenko also showed no signs of nerves ahead of perhaps the biggest game of his managerial career.

"Tomorrow will be my first international cup final and of course I want to win it. We will try our best tomorrow," he said.
