Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) — Chinese payment systems WeChat and Alipay may be integrated with Uzbekistan’s payment systems, according to Miraziz Mirkhayotov, Deputy Director of the Payment Systems Department at the Central Bank of Uzbekistan, who spoke at a press conference.

He noted that technical discussions on integration have already begun and may be concluded in the near future.

Mirkhayotov added that during the first phase of integration, foreign tourists will be able to easily make payments using Chinese payment systems upon arrival in Uzbekistan.

In the second phase, it is planned that Uzbekistan's citizens will be able to use the national payment systems when traveling to China.

This initiative aims to enhance transaction convenience for tourists and create favorable conditions for the growth of mutual trade between the two countries.
