WADA highly appreciated the work of the anti-doping agency of Uzbekistan

Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) -- In the annual report of the World Anti-Doping Agency (WADA) for December 2023, the National Anti-Doping Agency of Uzbekistan is included in one of the strongest groups among 206 countries of the world, reports a correspondent of Dunyo news agency.

WADA evaluates the activities of national anti-doping organizations in 206 countries, divided into 4 groups. These are group 1 - high level, group 2 - good, group 3 - satisfactory and group 4 - unsatisfactory. Despite the fact that Uzbekistan is a young country in the fight against doping, the country took a place in the first group, that is, among countries with high results in their activities. This group of CIS countries also includes Belarus, Russia and Kazakhstan, the 2nd group includes Azerbaijan, Armenia, Kyrgyzstan, and the 3rd group includes Tajikistan, Turkmenistan and Moldova.

Here the question arises on the basis of what reasons countries are divided into these groups. Timely implementation of the requirements of the World Anti-Doping Agency Code, that is, increasing the knowledge of athletes, doctors and coaches in the field of anti-doping, doping tests and their results (taking into account the small number of positive results), and the presence of international class doping officers and investigators, and the main thing is the level of compliance, divided depending on the position.

The National Anti-Doping Agency of the Republic of Uzbekistan successfully passed the control of compliance with the World Anti-Doping Code in the II quarter of 2023.

Countries deemed non-compliant by the World Anti-Doping Agency are subject to sanctions. Sanctions vary depending on the type of compliance with the requirements of the Code in full, in part, or non-compliance at all. For example, punishment is divided into types of non-participation in international competitions on behalf of the country or such as not raising the country’s flag in case of participation.
