Volume of remittance between Russia and Uzbekistan falls by 54% in 1Q

Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) -- Total volume of remittance between Uzbekistan and Russia fell from US$614 million in the first quarter of 2015 to US$283 million in the reporting period of 2016, decreasing by 53.91% year-on-year, according to the Central Bank of Russia.

According to the Central Bank of Russia, the volume of remittances from Uzbekistan to Russia made up 27 million in the first quarter of 2016 against US$151 million in the same period of 2015.

At the same time, the remittances for US$256 million were sent from Russia to Uzbekistan in January-March 2016 against US$463 million in the same period of 2015.

The average sum of the remittance decreased from US$350 to US$335 in the reporting period and from Uzbekistan to Russia – from US$1,504 to US$1,251.
