Volume of non-performing loans in Uzbekistan’s commercial banks reaches 20 trillion soums

Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) -- As of 1 July 2024, the volume of non-performing loans (NPLs) in Uzbekistan’s commercial banks made up to 20 trillion soums, according to data from the Central Bank of Uzbekistan.

The regulator reports that the total loan portfolio of Uzbekistan’s commercial banks as of 1 July 2024, stands at 493.95 trillion soums.

The share of non-performing loans in the banks’ loan portfolios has reached 4%, the Central Bank of Uzbekistan reports.

Non-performing loans in state banks of Uzbekistan total 15.1 trillion soums, or 4.4% of their loan portfolios.

UzNatsBank (2.92 trillion soums), Uzpromstroybank (2.38 trillion soums), and Agrobank (2.03 trillion soums) are the top three banks in terms of the volume of non-performing loans.

In terms of the percentage of non-performing loans in the loan portfolios, the leading banks are Madad Invest Bank (22.8% of its loan portfolio), Garant Bank (14.8%), and Saderat Bank of Iran (12.5%).
