Volga-Dnepr Airlines receives third IL-76TD-90VD freighter
Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) -- Russia’s Volga-Dnepr Airlines introduced to commercial exploitation of the third new generation IL-76TD-90VD freighter, which was built at the Tashkent Aircraft Production Plant named after Chkalov. The aircraft carried out first success flight on 24 May 2010.

The Russian airline said third IL-76TD-90VD freighter is the first aircraft, which was delivered in line with agreement of Volga Dnepr Leasing and Transport Aircrafts. The agreement was inked in 2007.

On 21 May 2010, the new aircraft was included into list of used aircrafts by Volga Dnepr. On 24 May, the aircraft carried out first commercial flight. IL-76TD-90VD freighter meets all modern and perspective requirements of the ICAO and can conduct flights worldwide without any limits. New aircrafts are equipped with PS-90A-76 and new avionics.

Andrei Pahomov, Volga Dnepr Leasing LLC Director-General, said: “Receiving of third IL-76TD-90VD is another step in realization of strategy on developing fleet of Volga-Dnepr Group, which envisages to increase fleet by 15-20 aircrafts of this model by 2020. He added that next two liners will be received within 2011-2012.

Denis Gliznutsa, commercial director of Volga Dnepr Group, said the introduction of third IL-76TD-90VD is good news for our customers worldwide, which highly values advantages of this aircraft. He said that the transportation with this aircraft is highly demanded worldwide, including in Europe and the USA.

“For three years of the model exploitation fully meet expectations of the company both on flight and economic figures,” he said. Gliznutsa added that the demand for IL-76TD-90VD is rising due to exit of old modifications.

Volga Dnepr received the first aircraft in 2005 and introduced it into commercial exploitation in June 2006. The second aircraft was received in October 2007. These aircrafts conducted over 600 flights from and to 87 countries, including to Australia, Japan and the USA.
