VMTP increases cargo exports from Vladivostok to Uzbekistan

Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) – Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of Uzbekistan to Russia Botirjon Asadov held a meeting with the Chairman of the Board of Directors of FESCO, Andrey Severilov. The parties discussed issues related to further development of cooperation.

It is noted that Uzbekistan is one of the key destinations for shipping cargo by rail from the ports of the Russian Far East. Since the beginning of this year, the Vladivostok Sea Trade Port (VMTP) has shipped 43.5% more to Uzbekistan than the previous year.

Andrey Severilov emphasized that currently, FESCO accounts for 35% of all container shipments from the ports of the Russian Far East to Uzbekistan. According to him, this route is one of the key in delivering imported goods and exporting products to the global markets.

"As part of our FESCO Tashkent Shuttle service, connecting Vladivostok and Tashkent, 13.6 thousand TEUs were delivered to Uzbekistan in the first 10 months of this year," noted Andrey Severilov.

In October 2022, FESCO opened its subsidiary FESCO TURAN in Tashkent. FESCO TURAN provides a full range of logistics services in the region.

During the meeting, the parties discussed issues related to further strengthening of cooperation. They also discussed the possibility of launching a container train from Moscow to Tashkent and in the reverse direction.
