Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) -- Russian President Vladimir Putin and Uzbekistan President Shavkat Mirziyoyev visited the Victory Park memorial complex in Tashkent.

Vladimir Putin and Shavkat Mirziyoyev laid flowers at the Ode to Fortitude memorial. The leaders paid tribute to the memory of the Uzbek woman Zulfiya Zakirova, a resident of the Khanabad village of Zangiata district of Tashkent region, who lost five sons at the front during the World War II. The memorial symbolizes all women who lost loved ones during the war.

Then Vladimir Putin and Shavkat Mirziyoyev visited the Museum of Glory, where they got acquainted with the exhibition telling about the history of Uzbekistan’s participation in the World War II.

The Victory Park memorial complex was opened on 9 May 2020 and is divided into 12 symbolic zones. At the entrance there is a Victory Arch in the form of a five-pointed star.
