Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) -- As part of the visit of a delegation of the Ministry of ICT to Barcelona (Kingdom of Spain) to participate in the World Mobile Congress "MWC Barcelona 2022", the Minister for the Development of Information Technologies and Communications Sherzod Shermatov held a meeting with the CEO of the group of companies " VEON" Kaan Terzioglu.

At the meeting, issues of increasing the volume of investments for the implementation of projects for the development of telecommunications networks, especially in rural areas and remote areas, the implementation of educational projects with the involvement of international trainers for the training of IT personnel were discussed.

The issue of the direct participation of the Veon in the implementation of projects for the development of BPO (business process outsourcing) and KPO (knowledge process outsourcing) services through the employment of local youth was also considered.

During the meeting, the parties exchanged views on improving the material and technical base of educational institutions, financing promising research and start-up projects, holding competitions for grants, and increasing investment in IT education.

The issue of the participation of the Veon company in the international digital forum, which will be held on 24-26 October 2022 as part of the ICT Week Uzbekistan, was also considered.
