Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) -- In Uzbekistan, from 1 April 2024, VAT benefits on the turnover and import of pharmaceutical products will be cancelled. This was reported by the press service of the Tax Committee of Uzbekistan.

According to the department, VAT will be levied on turnover on the sale of medical services, veterinary services, medicinal and veterinary medicines, as well as medical and veterinary products.

Value added tax will also be applied to the import of specified goods and raw materials.

In addition, from 1 January 2024, the period of guaranteed purchase of pharmaceutical products will increase from three to ten years, and medicines subject to localization will be included in government procurement.
