Validation of two CDM projects of Uztransgaz started
Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) -- Validation process has been started on two projects of Uztransgaz JSC, realized in cooperation with the UAE’s MASDAR and UK’s Climate Change Capital within the Clean Development Mechanism (CDM).

Uztransgaz plans to realize project Reducing gas leaks in low pressure and medium pressure gas distribution networks in Ferghana Valley with MASDAR.

The project will help to reduce gas leakage in gas distribution networks in Ferghana Valley, which unites three regions – Andijan, Ferghana and Namangan.

The project will allow to reduce 1.4 million tonnes of Certified Emission Reductions (CER) every year.

Uztransgaz and Climate Change Capital plan to carry out project Leak Reduction in Above Ground Distribution Equipment in the Gas Distribution Network in Surkhandarya and Kashkadarya regions.

It is planned to introduce latest materials and innovative equipment at gas distribution networks, which will allow to cut natural gas leakages and emission of methane to atmosphere.

The project will cut 514,291 tonnes of CER a year.
