The club said that the contract with the Uzbek specialist was not signed due to resignation of the club’s President Esmuhamet Spanov. There was verbal agreement between Spanov and Abramov and the sides decided to part the ways, the club stated.
Kazakh specialist Grigoriy Babayan will continue work with the club at the training camp of the club.
Uzbekistan defender Islom Tokhtakhodjaev was on trail at the Kazakh club. Abramov also was planning to invite Uzbekistan forward Aleksander Geinrikh.
As reported earlier, Vadim Abramov has been appointed as head coach of Astana in the end of November 2013.
