Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) -- A coaching staff of the Uzbekistan national football team led by head coach Vadim Abramov was dismissed.

Chairman of the Uzbekistan Football Association Abdusalom Azizov today announced the dismissal of the coaching staff.

He explained that in the agreement concluded with the coaching staff envisaged the condition for the national team to progress to the third round of qualification of the 2022 World Cup in Qatar. The coaching staff could not fulfill this condition.

In the final match of the second round of qualification for the 2022 World Cup, Uzbekistan lost to Saudi Arabia with a score of 0:3 and could not advance to the third round.

A new team coach will be appointed shortly.
