V-forum of guides of Uzbekistan takes place in Tashkent

Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) -- On 28 February, the V-forum of guides of the Republic of Uzbekistan was held in Hilton Tashkent City, timed to coincide with the International Day of the guide and guide, which is celebrated on 21 February. The forum, organized on the initiative of the Ministry of Tourism and Cultural Heritage, was attended by the leadership of the ministry, representatives of the country’s tourism companies, guides and tour guides.

During the forum, tourism specialists and participants exchanged views on the activities of guides during the pandemic and new opportunities for the future.

According to the analysis of international experience studied by experts, the development of domestic tourism in the context of the global crisis is the most correct direction. Given this, in our country, a number of benefits are provided for representatives of the sphere within the framework of the “Travel around Uzbekistan” program. All this is done with the aim of wide coverage of the population by travel.

“The President and the government of our country pay great attention to the development of tourism and adopted more than 90 regulatory legal acts to create a tourism management system, diversify the types of tourism, provide more than 54 benefits and preferences to support and develop the sphere of ensuring recognition and attractiveness of Uzbekistan in the international arena. We work closely with many guides, travel companies that study and provide new tourist routes in Uzbekistan for tourists, both domestic and foreign. For example, during the pandemic, 300 new tourist routes within the country were developed. Currently, the Ministry of Tourism and Cultural Heritage is developing a new “Tourism Development Strategy of the Republic of Uzbekistan for the period up to 2030”, taking into account the global crisis in tourism, new competition conditions,” said Ulugbek Azamov, First Deputy Minister of Tourism and Cultural Heritage.

During the pandemic, guides and travel companies, together with specialists, conducted research on new tourist destinations in Uzbekistan, developing and offering tourists about 300 new tourist routes. Currently, work is underway to develop a general catalog of tourist routes in Uzbekistan and post it on social networks in order to bring it to the general public.

Within the framework of the forum, responsible persons put forward a proposal to develop tourism programs with “all services combined” tariffs to increase the flow of tourists visiting Uzbekistan. The young guides who participated in the event expressed their gratitude to the responsible persons for the attention and opportunities provided to the industry.

Also during the event, the participants put forward important proposals and recommendations for improving the tourism industry.
