Uzum Market Withdraws Batch of Oila Tanlovi Oil Over Labeling Error
Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) — Uzum Market has announced the withdrawal of a batch of Oila Tanlovi oil due to a labeling error. The batch in question had been placed on sale in April 2024.
The labels indicated a 12-month shelf life, which complies with international sanitary standards. However, Uzbekistan applies two different labeling regulations: one sets a recommended shelf life of 12 months, while the other limits it to 6 months.
According to the company, once the error was identified, the entire batch was removed from sale and returned to the producer.
A consumer complaint was filed with the Committee in April 2025, and the subsequent inspection and review were completed in July.
Uzum Market emphasized that the product’s quality and safety fully met standards, and the issue was solely related to inaccurate labeling.
