Uztekstilprom and Wildberries announced the launch of a joint project to support the export of Uzbek textiles

Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) -- Today, on 4 September, the Uztekstilprom Association and the international online platform Wildberries announced joint plans to develop the export potential of manufacturing enterprises in Uzbekistan.

The management of the association, in its welcoming speech, expressed gratitude to the participants of the event and at the same time noted that cooperation with the online platform will help our manufacturers enter the markets of the CIS countries, thereby increasing their export potential.

According to the representative of Wildberries in Uzbekistan, Sardor Kadyrov, this joint project is an important event for the country, since the government of Uzbekistan has been making great efforts for a long time to support manufacturers of finished textile products and increase their export potential.

Chairman of the Uzbekistan e-commerce association Muzaffar Azamov spoke about the advantages of the international marketplace for Uzbek entrepreneurs, in particular for textile workers, given that the textile sector of the republic is the most developed and in demand.

The participants discussed the prospects for the development of local production in the online segment in order to increase the competitiveness and trade turnover of textile enterprises and local businesses in the sale of finished products to neighboring countries.

The start of a training project at the Wildberries business school was also announced, which will significantly expand the export opportunities for manufacturers of textile products in Uzbekistan to foreign markets.

On-site training will be conducted by leading experts of the Wildberries business school Emilia Frank and Pavel Ichin, who will give practical recommendations on starting sales on the online platform and talk about the possibilities of effectively promoting products on Wildberries. The first seminars for textile manufacturers and local entrepreneurs will be held on 4-5 October in Tashkent, on 6 October in Namangan, on 7 October in Ferghana, on 8 October in Andijan on the basis of the Uztekstilprom Association.

As Sardor Kadyrov, director of Wildberries in Uzbekistan, noted, “We are confident that the training project from the Wildberries business school will improve the financial literacy of our current and future partners and will allow us to sell Uzbek-made goods in 7 foreign markets through an online platform.”

Wildberries strives for an open dialogue with producers of local products and entrepreneurs, and improves platform services so that local businesses can develop in the online segment. Products produced in Uzbekistan are becoming increasingly popular on the platform. Thus, during the period January-August 2023, sales of products from Uzbekistan increased by 94% year-on-year, which amounts to over US$285 million.
