Pravda Vostoka newspaper reported that the volume of used foreign investments and credits made up US$53.11 million.

In particular, the modernization of existing capacities with construction of new line on production of cement with dry method is underway at Bekabadcement joint stock company. The enterprise used US$8.6 million of investments at the forecast of US$5.5 million.

Some US$8.13 million were used at the forecast volume of US$7.9 million within organization of production of gypsum at Knaug Gips Bukhara. The enterprise will produce drywall based on Germany’s Knauf technologies.

About US$3 million were directed to construction of cement plant in Karakalpakstan Republic in the first half of 2010. The plant will have capacity of 1 million tonnes a year.

It is also planned to realize project on organization of production of ceramic tiles with Iranian EMG.

Kyzylkumcement is implementing project “Updating quarry equipment, electric motors, batchers for raw materials and cement mills, rotors for smoke suckers, spare parts to electric and hose filters”. It is planned to use US$2.5 million of investments, but actually the enterprise used for US$3.78 million.

TashKSM open joint stock company attracted loans of commercial banks to implement project “Organization of production of ceramic tiles with the capacity of 1.5 million square meters a year”.

Within the localization programme, it is planned to implement 39 projects. Within the six months of 2010, the enterprises of Uzqurilishmateriallari produced goods for 49.81billion soums in the first six months of 2010, which up by 40.2% year-on-year.

The volume of products, manufactured by joint ventures and enterprises with foreign investments, made up 236.8 billion soums in the first half of 2010.

Uzqurilishmateriallari also has about 101 enterprises of small and private businesses along with large enterprises. In the first six months of 2010, they produced goods worth 26 billion soums.
