Finance 28/05/2007 Uzpromstroybank directs nearly 30bn soums to support entrepreneurship

Uzpromstroybank (Uzbek industrial construction bank) in the first quarter of 2007 directed 22.9 billion soums to support entrepreneurship activity, including 8 billion soums allocated to investment projects and 1.2 billion soums to microloans.

In the reporting period, the credit investments to small business entities were directed on development of various branches of the national economy, namely industry – 22.4%, agriculture – 22.5%, construction and services – 30%, other spheres – 7.4%.

In line with governmental resolutions, the bank has formed a special fund of preferential crediting worth a total of 12 billion soums. The fund is intended for preferential crediting of production microfirms, small enterprises, farms, as well as high-tech and innovation projects.

The total sum of credits given through this fund has made up 24.9 billion soums, including 1.8 billion soums in January-March 2007. As a result, small businesses have created 2,303 new workplaces and manufactured consumer goods worth 1.6 billion soums.
